Regulations

Waterway regulations are stated in the Police General Regulations called “Code Fluvial” and in the Police Special Regulations. Always keep to the right of the navigable channel, observe speed restrictions and do not stay on the way are the most important rules of the regulation.

Other main information can be displayed at locks. The panels on which you will find them are called “Avis à la Batellerie”.

Rivers can be in rising especially during springtime. It then becomes necessary to stay informed of the rivers level (Lot and Baïse) before departing.

It is recommended to take on board maps or waterway guides concerning the route you want to sail.
